VB198 Embracing Holy Spirit
Embracing Holy Spirit
He’s more than a helper. He gives us the advantage!
Jn 16:7 (NASB) –“But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.”
The word “advantage” is translated “expedient’’ in KJV, others render it as; “profitable,” or “to your good.”
It is to our good to be filled with the Spirit. How could any situation be more advantageous or profitable than having Jesus physically with you?
When Jesus was on this earth in His physical body, He was subject to many physical limitations. For example, He could not always be with every one of His disciples around-the-clock. Through the ministry of Holy Spirit, it is possible. Instead of Satan getting rid of Jesus, 120 ‘little Christs’ (that is literal meaning of the word ‘Christian’) came out of the upper room on the day of Pentecost.
Jesus taught His disciples as no teacher ever had, yet they had very little understanding because they were not born again.
However, when Holy Spirit came, He led them into all truth and even showed them things to come. The list of advantages of having Holy Spirit in us as compared to having Jesus with us in His physical body, goes on and on.
The advantages can all be summed up in that Jesus’ power is now complete and no longer confined to one physical body.
Mt 28:18 (NASB) –And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”
There is no such thing as victorious Christian living without a moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day dependence upon the Spirit of God.
Not only is the Christian life hard to live, but you cannot live without the power of God Himself.
Let’s pray together:
Lord, we thank you for Holy Spirit. He leads us into all truth and even shows us things to come.
Holy Spirit helps us in everything. We appreciate Him so much. We embrace Holy Spirit, and we thank Him for working through us in these last days.
We have advantage over the enemy. We are more profitable in the Spirit, than if Jesus was physically with us.
Step by step, day by day, hour by hour, we need you Lord. Amen!
Remember: Whatever stands between you and your Bible is your enemy!
God bless you my friend,
