Incorruptible Seed

[1Pet 1:23]

1 Peter 1:23 (NKJV) –having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

The regenerating power of God’s Word is amazing. The Creator’s spoken word, and life-giving breath gave us our natural existence. Then in the same way, we receive our New Birth by the power of God’s Word and the Holy Spirit.

God’s purpose for our created being is fulfilled when our spirits are alive toward Him. Sin caused spiritual death, but salvation in Jesus Christ has provided spiritual life (see, Eph 2:1-8).

This text tells us that the “seed” that has produced new life in us is the Word of God, which has begotten us again by the Holy Spirit’s power (Titus 3:5) and made us members of God’s new creation (2Cor 5:17).

This is the ultimate manifestation of the power of God’s Word – the power to bring spiritual life to whoever opens their heart to its truth.

James 1:18 tells us God’s “word of truth” is how He brought us new life, emphasizing that He has done this according to His own will. It is plain, God doesn’t want anyone to perish (2Pet 3:9). The incorruptible “word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart…. Confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Rom 10:8-10).

Declaration:

I was born again by the incorruptible seed of God’s Word.

There is no expiration date on the seed of God’s Word it lives and abides forever. The words that the Lord spoke to people over 2000 years ago are still alive and active, and will produce miracles in my life when I mix those words with faith (Heb 4:2).
