VB100 Supernatural Gumption

Supernatural Gumption

[Phil 2:4; Gal 6:7]

During these perilous days, people are searching for answers to life’s problems like never before. And you have the answers available, because the Holy Spirit is living in you. By accessing His divine power, you can help someone who is in a struggle with the enemy. There are people all around you who need God’s healing touch, and you can give it to them.

Most believers are not available to really be used by God. They think it is the pastor’s job to minister. But Jesus gave the great commission to all believers years before Paul’s message on the five-fold ministry (see Mk. 16:15-18; Eph. 4:11). It is the responsibility of all believers to yield to the Holy Spirit so that He can work through all of us. Now the question, is how to yield.

A lot of Spirit-filled Christians ask themselves, “Why doesn’t God use me?” They have knowledge of God’s Word, and they pray and fellowship with other believers, but they wonder what it takes to get God to work through them. Many are trying to get God to do something. Well God has done something. He has supplied you with the answers, but they are on the inside of you. You get answers from His Spirit over into your spirit.

Anyone who has ever operated in the Spirit was operating in love. We were born to be selfish sinners to operate in the flesh. Now that we are born again, we must learn to love in order to operate in the Holy Spirit.

I believe the first step of operating in the spirit is true worship of our Lord, cultivating a Father-son relationship. God is Love, and as we worship in spirit, Love sets our mind on Him rather than ourselves. God needs us to worship Him.

Get your eyes off yourself:

By getting your mind off yourself and being more focused on the needs of others, you will become more sensitive (spiritually) to recognize those that God brings across your path to help. There is a way for you to become instrumental in deliverance, healing, and power where God is well able to use you to help restore some struggling people.

I’m just sharing some simple things, that if you practice them, you can prepare yourself so that God’s power can flow through you to others. The Holy Spirit will give you an unction, what I call a “supernatural gumption” to touch lives. He gives you the power to witness (Acts 1:8). There are so many needy people these days, and God wants to use your voice with His words to answer their problems. You can bring answers to those in darkness whom Satan has tried to keep blinded to the truth.

For you to become a highly effective instrument in God’s hands to bring His love to hurting people, get your eyes off yourself and start focusing on those around you. That change of focus will help you enter the territory that the devil has stolen from someone’s life, set them free, and help them take back their dominion.

Philippians 2:4 (KJV) – Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Oftentimes, as a young whipper-snapper, my mother would hear me complain about my problems. She would always remind me that if I looked around it was easy to find someone in a worse situation.

You may be dealing with mountains in your life—but always remember, there are people around you who are facing much more difficult challenges than you are right now. One strategy of the devil is to get you so self-focused on your own needs, that you fail to see the needs of those around you.

As you surrender to the Holy Spirit, He will empower you to bring help to those around you, while He meets your needs.

Galatians 6:7 (KJV) – Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

The law of sowing and reaping is an absolute truth. When you focus your attention on others and meet their needs, God will see to it that your needs are met.

Let’s Pray:

Father, in these last days, I meet people who need answers and help that only You can give. Lord, I know you use those who have yielded to Your Word and Spirit to be a blessing to others. I believe you called me to be one of those. Help me be effective, in the name Jesus, Amen.

Declaration:

I ask myself, Who are the people in my life that need an encouraging word?

I shift my focus off myself, and allow the Holy Spirit to show me the needs of others as He sends them across my path. He will give me His supernatural gumption to do whatever God needs me to do!

God bless you my friend,
