Be Encouraged – Read the Bible

[Ps 119:105; Jer 29:11]

God’s Word is powerful and will shape you and guide you in your life purpose. Today I want to encourage you to read the Bible. It will give you everything you need!

What You Feed on Shapes You.

We need to continually feed our minds with thoughts from the Word of God. The world is overflowing with negativity, everything that is wrong.

Whether it’s the news on your phone or the chaos on TV, most of what is available promotes fear and confusion, and it will shape the way you think — and ultimately the way you live — if you give it a place in your mind.

The Bible, on the other hand, is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path in dark times.

Ps 119:105 (NIV) –Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

We need a brightly lit path like never before. When you feed on the Word of God, you begin to recognize His voice, and you start thinking righteous thoughts instead of worldly ones.

The chaos and lies on the news may make your future seem unsure, but the Bible tells us that we are not accidents, but we were born for a purpose. Our Maker has a plan for our lives, and we were created for a reason, so we don’t have to worry about the chaos.

Jer 29:11 (NIV) –For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Having Biblical Knowledge will Help You Lead Your Family and Others.

Today, age-old truths are being challenged, and the once-solid ground we stood on seems to be turning into sand. From schools teaching strange ideologies, to global conflicts and cultural confusion.

There are so many sources to trouble our minds. We need to know what the Bible says about these issues so that we can live our lives according to truth, and help keep our loved ones from falling into deception.

We have the responsibility to encourage our loved ones, in the faith, but knowledge of the Bible is gained only by spending time reading and studying it.

When my wife and I discuss world events with common sense and logic, we always go back to the Bible for the final answer. The Bible is the bedrock of our faith, and we need to know and be guided by what it says concerning this life and the one to come.

If we let ourselves be careless, we could be risking more than just our own lives and salvation.

Be encouraged to read your Bible every day. It doesn’t matter where you start or how much, just read the Bible – a few verses, a chapter, or a couple pages.

If your Bible is worn out from use, and falling apart – it will most likely indicate that your life is still together!

Prayer:

Lord, I need a light to shine on my path. I desire to feed on your Word, and recognize your voice. Righteous thoughts are what I want, not worldly ones.

Show me, Father, how to pray concerning the chaos and lies the news media continues to force out on the airwaves.

I know you have a plan for my life, and I was created for a purpose in this time and place. Show me the details of how I can make a difference for others, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Proclamation:

I am safe and blessed in the secret place of God’s presence, safe from the strife of the world and words contrary to life and godliness. Glory to God!

Now, go read your Bible!
