   3. Desiring the greater gifts -- 1 Cor. 12:31-13:7
   4. Pleasing God in everything -- 2 Cor. 5:9
   5. Striving for perfection, unity and peace -- 2 Cor. 13:11
   6. Pressing on to serve Jesus -- Phil. 3:12-14
   7. Leading a quiet, diligent life -- 1 Thess. 4:11
   8. To pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness -- 1 Tim. 6:11; 2 Tim. 2:22
2. Improper ambitions include;
   1. Competing with others in the kingdom -- Mk. 10:35-45; Phil. 1:15, 17
   2. Serving your own selfish wants -- Phil. 2:3; James 2:14-16
   3. Seeking after riches -- 1 Kings 3:7-12; Lk. 12:13-21; 1 Tim. 6:9-10
   4. Attempting to glorify yourself -- Gen. 11:3-4; Dan. 4:28-30
   5. Attempting to displace God -- Ezek. 28:2; 2 Thess. 2:3-4
