Confession of Faith

Romans 10:9-10

Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Confess: Gk. homologeo (hom-ol-og-eh'-o), lit., to speak the same thing (homos, same and lego, to speak), to assent, accord, agree with, denotes, declare openly by way of speaking out freely, such confession being the effect of deep conviction of facts. (VINE) [It is so, so we say so. --Ike]

Believe: Gk. pisteuo (pist-yoo'-o) to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit; by implication to entrust (especially one's spiritual well-being to Christ) :- believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with. (SECB)

Saved: Gk. sozo (sode'-zo) to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literal or figurative) :- heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole. (SECB)

Salvation: Gk. soteria (so-tay-ree'-ah) rescue or safety (physical or morally) :- deliver, health, salvation, save, saving. (SECB)
