Prov 12:25 (NKJV) Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.
Glad: Heb. samah (saw-makh') to brighten up, to cheer up, be glad, become joyful, be merry, to cause to rejoice.
Note: Negative emotions do to the heart what a heavy burden does to a person who carries it. That is the reason discouragement and depression are spoken of as being heavy burdens. It's a descriptive term illustrating the condition of our hearts. How do we get rid of the heaviness in our hearts? This verse says a good word will make the heart glad.
My Confession: The enemy cannot cause me to be depressed! I have God's Word in my heart, and His word is GOOD! The Bible tells me what Jesus has done for me and it causes me to rejoice and be glad!
