Who Determines Your Destiny?

The average person never fulfills the plan of God in their life because they know very little or nothing about it, so they live for lower goals and ambitions. When you hear someone say, "Well, I guess it just wasn't God's will (or wasn't meant to be,)" you know that person is not in close relationship with the Lord.

Who determines your destiny?

--God does!

The Bible tells us that God has a plan for our lives. He chose us before the world was made. His plan for us is more important than the world to Him. That alone should tell us that God's plan for us is a good plan. God wants us to be like Him so that we can relate to and fellowship with Him.

At a major airport you will see video monitors full of information that includes times of arrivals and departures of all the different flights. The airline companies have predetermined those flights, but they did not arrange a flight for you individually (personally). No, they scheduled (or predestined) those flights for "who-so-ever will," (the whole plane load).

Ephesians 1:3-6, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: [4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: [5] Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, [6] To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Ephesians 1:11, In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Ephesians 2:10 AMP, For we are God's handiwork, recreated in Christ Jesus, THAT WE MAY DO THOSE GOOD WORKS which God predestined for us...

God's predestination, according to Romans 8:29, is always based on His foreknowledge. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. (Fore-know means loved before) He loved us before we were born, so He designed a plan of blessing for us before we were born.

Who determines your destiny?

-- You do!

You are not a puppet on a string, you have a choice in life. God planned a fulfilling, rewarding, satisfying life for you, because He knew you even before creation (Eph. 1:4). Our success is based on our choices in life aligning with His Word. When His plan for us becomes our plan, then we have true success and victory in life.

It is interesting how two children, a brother and sister, will come to think that the parents favor one more than the other. A boy might think his sister is favored more by the parents than himself. Then his sister explains to him that she is not a favorite, but that she simply takes time to listen to and to do what Mom and Dad say when they give instructions instead of being too busy with something else. It is a simple matter of one child choosing to become close and listen and the other choosing to do his own thing which leads to disobedience.
